Welcome to the site of Czech painter Jaroslav Blažek
The artist comes from Kostice - typical South Moravian village in the Czech Republic, and although he lives and works in Prague since many years, he’s still drawing inspiration from the cultural awareness of this region.
His artistic career was from the beginning lined by external obstacles imposed by the political regime after the Soviets invasion of the former Czechoslovakia. Only after the Velvet Revolution he could exhibit his works unrestrictedly. This, together with longing after his home region, has set the foundation for a unique artistic expression.
